Merriam-Webster Dictionary Definition of Accountability
: the quality or state of being accountable; especially : an obligation or willingness to accept responsibility or to account for one’s actions.
Many of you would class yourselves as responsible people…..
But are you accountable?
These words are often used interchangeably, however whether you are a responsible person or an accountable person can have a huge impact on your life.
And just a subtle change in mindset can help you achieve your goals.
A buddy of mine, Steve, was interviewing potential candidates for a position within his company. His offices are city center based, and that particular day there was a multi-vehicle accident that caused gridlock just before the interviews were due to begin. Immediately he started receiving very apologetic phone calls from people stuck in the traffic asking to reschedule their appointments.
These days people are so quick to jump to the law to solve their problems. Great for lining the lawyers pockets but not so great for most involved in litigation. Nope, I know there are winners and losers in all aspects of life.
What I want you to try and get your head around is a concept that you simply cannot fail – because failure does not exist.
There is only Action or In-Action.

We have all heard the expression “The straw that broke the camels back”
Well, I had been carrying a barn full of straw on my back for months and this day was the day it all got too much.
The bank had reversed a decision to provide me with a second mortgage on my house and that meant I had about 30 days, before the “wheels fell off” my little online enterprise and we would no longer be able to meet the bills.
Sometimes you just have to retreat and regroup.
If anyone ever tells you that they have never had a failure in their online efforts, look them straight in the eye and tell them
LIAR, LIAR, PANTS ON FIRE!!!!
Even the most experienced of us fall foul of “Sod’s Law” sometimes and it’s at those moments you need to keep the faith in your abilities, whilst at the same time learning to retreat and regroup.
